On April 17th, 18th, and 19th, the Spannabis fair returns to Bilbao, the largest and most important event in the cannabis sector in our country, and perhaps in all of Europe. This major event will showcase to its visitors the future and potential of the cannabis industry in our country.
This is not the first time Spannabis has landed in the capital of Biscay, as September 2024 marked the first time it was held in this Basque city.
In this way, Spannabis alternates its editions between our city of Barcelona, the main and original headquarters of this important event, and the city of Bilbao.
In a way, this confirms that both Catalonia and the Basque Country are the leading regions driving the cannabis sector in our country, to the detriment of Madrid, a city where some editions of Spannabis have also been held.
Unfortunately, hosting this event in the capital did not achieve the expected success and reception, mainly due to the reluctance and obstacles imposed by local political authorities, led by the well-known Popular Party, which, in its particular “cultural war,” shows a visceral rejection of anything related to cannabis, in contrast to its unconditional support for alcohol, symbolized by the famous “beers” promoted by its regional leader, Pilar Díaz Ayuso.
The fair, now in its 23rd edition, will be held, as in previous editions, at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), one of the largest and most modern exhibition venues in Europe, offering dining areas and additional services such as parking, Wi-Fi connection, and rest areas.
During these three days, 300 international exhibitors and more than 3,900 professionals from the cannabis sector will be able to exchange ideas and have the opportunity to create new contacts and seek potential clients.
