Within the framework of the 1st edition of the International Scientific Conference about medicinal cannabis<\/strong>, held on 24th and 25th October in Buenos Aires (Argentina), a meticulous study of pioneers in this field, led by the Israeli scientist Raphael Mechoulan<\/strong>, was presented, in which it was emphasized that medicinal cannabis has a therapeutic potential that goes far beyond epilepsy, one of its initially best-known uses.<\/h5>\n
The professor of the Institute of Research on Drugs of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Yossi Tam<\/strong>, pointed out that once \"the components of the plant and the effect on our body are identified, we could see the potential it has for medicinal use\"<\/em>.<\/h5>\n
A bill presented in Israel will allow the importation, commercialization and use of cannabis for medicinal purposes from December on.<\/h5>\n
\"Cannabis can be used to treat symptoms related to cancer, such as the effects of chemotherapy which can be mitigated with cannabis ... It does not cure cancer, yet, but in the future it could work to prevent the proliferation of cancer cells\"<\/em> said Tam.<\/h5>\n
